For this few weeks, PoomDomain's traffic is pretty bad. From an average of 50 visitors a day (very little still), now its just 20, 10 of which are returning visitors. Because of my lack of research for more SEO tips this blog's content is getting worse everyday. If you have noticed, I posted about my personal life more often than before. This is a bad move, because if this continues, this blog will become nothing but just a blog, and not an SEO tips website or anything like that.

Here are some of the reasons why your blog's traffic will decrease:
1. Lack of new fresh content
2. Lack of directory submission (not sure if this matters)
3. Lack of promotion at various places such as articles promotion, participating in online community
4. Lack of effort put into the blog

Consistancy will lead your blog to its success, so be consistant at submitting you blog to directories and participate in online communities. Patience is also key to your web domain's success because after submitting your URL to multiple places and participating in communities the results will not show immediately. I guess while I'm writing this for you readers to read, this is also giving me a gentle reminder not to be idle and continue to develop this web domain more. That's all, c u

My roommate and I:

-Woke up at 4.00 am today
-Cabed to sydney central train station
-Bought the ticket
-Journey lasted 3 hours
-Reached there at 10.00 am

-The boss fetched us from the train station
-Upon reaching the vineyard, he educated us on how to do the job
-The job for today is: pull out all dangling vines from the plant
-Dangling vines sounds weak, but in actual fact they are so strong
-So strong it cut me at multiple places on my arms
-Okay, so we started doing the job from 10.30 am to 12.30
-Had a break from 12.30 pm to 01.00pm, pictures here:

Remember the time I told you about me going to be farming in the vineyard soon? Yea, tomorrow is going to be my first day. Today my roommate went to the farm to check things out first, then when he came back, he was talking about how bad and vulgar the boss there was. He further discribed about how you have to be fast and accurate at doing your job:

Poom: hey man, how was farming?
roommate: the boss is very vulgar
Poom: so how was work like?
roommate: oh, basically you have to 1. pluck out twigs 2. tie some things up and 3. destroy all hanging vines
Poom: oh that's not so bad
roommate: no, thats not all, there 10 rows of the plant in the farm, and you will probably take like at least 1 hour to finish 1 row. The boss will also moniter you so you can't slack around

Guess tomorrow I will be telling all about it then. I'm kind of excited to be able to experience this first hand. That's all, c u

Hi guys, one very short post for today since I'm quite tired and need to sleep so bad.

Do not ask people to help click on your ads

If you have heard about Google being very smart and know all your moves, well, I got to say that that's not speculation. Do you know why I got banned from adsense? Because I asked my friends to click on my ads. I am so sure about this is because I didn't do anything wrong other than that. You will feel sorry if you are really banned because I think that to most of you readers Google adsense is one of the top programs that earn you money. So don't make the same mistake as me. Thank you, that's all, c u

Have you heard of link building and directory submission? Well, today's short post will tell you that:

Do submit your web domain URL to as many directories and search engines as possible

I'm not sure whether if I have already wrote a post about link submission, if so, then this will be a gebtle reminder that you must submit your URL to as many places as possible. I have already made a file that contains all the URL of possible directory submission place on the left side of the site labeled under the 'SEO resources', if you can't find it, you can download the full list 1 here and list 2 here.

This will be short post for today, remember to submit your web domain URL regularly, but do not submit to many many directories at the same time. This will cause Google to remove your web domain from their database. You can submit slowly, maybe 20 - 30 directories a day. That's it, Thank you, c u

Farming

by Poom | 01:56 in , | comments (0)

Sydney's life is so boring, so the other I thought of ways to make it more interesting. What is did to make it interesting is:

1. Make contact lens
2. So that I can go and learn Wing chun (yong chun, Bruce Lee's master's kung fu style)
3. Exercise because I gained 3 kg thus far, now I'm 76 kg, before I came to sydney I was 73, and while I was in singapore last year I was 69.
4. Blog

And the 5th one is gonna be.......farming. Yea, farming. Not farming for gold in WoW or money in Runescape, but farming in a vineyard. Don't know what's a vineyard? It's the place where you grow grapes. I need to get a student working visa first so I hope everything goes well.

A special thing also happened to me today. A few years back I was playing this online fighting game called Getamped (splash fighters for USA), and today this guy who got my MSN address talked to me! Yea, what a surprise! He asked me whether if I can give him this 'skin' that I have. FYI, 'skins' are custom designs for characters which will often take a 'skin maker' several hours of dedicated effort to make. Since I don't really play the game anymore, I just gave him 1 of my skins and many other downloaded ones that I have. Haha, if possible I will want to play that game again, too bad Australia's internet suck bad.

That's it for today's post, will definitely be writing about SEO stuff tomorrow, c u

After about a year of waiting, english Dissidia is out! Playing it right now, and its a relief that I can finally understand what the hell the game is talking about. If you want to find out more about the game, you can go to the Dissidia official website. By the way, for those of you who have no clue about which company that made this game, its SquareEnix, creator of the Final Fantasy series.

A few good games are coming out around this time of year, and 1 of those other games is.. 'Soul Calibur: Broken destiny'. I'm really looking forward to it. Its coming out next week, meaning more gaming and less studying. Luckily my life is still interesting, unlike Phee who have to reduce his gaming standard to the lowest level possible, and that is to play runescape! When I told my brother about it, we LMAO-ed for 2 whole minutes you know! Haha.

This is the first infographic (kinda) I have made and its just a simple list of pros and cons between hosting your website at home or with a hosting company. For readers who can't actually see the picture because of someway or another, I'm going to list it down here:

Host at home:
-Host for free
-Not so safe internet security
-Flexible for SEO
-Consumes a lot of energy
-Does not have external assitance
-Need no internet to gain access
-Possible problems: Blackouts/ burglary/ natural disasters may cause website to go down

Host with hosting company:
-Host for free (crappy), and paid hosting, price usually starts from $3/month
-Safer internet security
-Flexible for SEO
-Does not consume electricity
-Additional services and assistance available, depending on different companies
-Needs internet to gain access
-Possible problems: Company may close down, causing lost of the whole website

Conclusion:
Website hosting at home may be free, but considering the cost for its energy consumption it is better to just host it with a hosting company. If you don't even have another computer available then I won't recommend you hosting your website at home. However, this is always a choice you have to make on your own, so yeah, think carefully.

This will conclude the 'Alternatives to blogger' series. You can read the first one here and second one here, and that's it, c u

Exam Alert

by Poom | 02:55 in | comments (0)

Yoyo

I know I have not been updating regularly but well, exam is just a week away.

Louis and I were supposed to have the so called " studying session " after school everyday from the beginning of term 3. Its the 8th week of the term now and we still have not started......I do not think that we will even start.

Yes, we procrastinate too much and because of that the " oh shit " cycle always repeats. Many of you may not know what I mean by the " oh shit " cycle so I decided to make a simple illustration to explain:

Phee : Loo, I got a joke!
Loo : LOLxzxz
Phee : Wait I havn't said it yet.
Loo : >:o
Phee : :(
Phee : Want to play Run Escape?
Loo : Let's roll!

2 hours later.......

Phee : Loo, you damn pro sia
Loo : Of course, tommorow need to hand up anything?
Phee : Science worksheets, Chapter 10 mindmap, History workbook page 82 - 92, Maths revision 13, English broshure and a piles of paper.
Loo : Oh shit...

And this is how the " oh shit " cycle repeats everyday in our lives. I have come to a conclusion that I should stop visiting the old folks home, beach cleaning and donating to charity as examination is nearing. So I will not be posting very often for the whole of next week :(

That is all for today.

Yesterday we talked about 'instant-noodle-like' blogging platforms (CMS) such as Wordpress, Typepad and Tumblr, today we will be looking at some of the 'semi-instant-noodle-like' CMS available and what are the procedures that you must carry out to make one.

For these 'semi-instant-noodle-like' CMSes, different ones has their pros and cons, like Wordpress ones are written in PHP and Joomla and Drupal doesn't have as many widgets as Wordpress and such, but that's not the beauty of 'semi-instant-noodle-like' CMSes: its beauty lies within its setup.

To setup one, you need
1. buy your very own domain name first, and then
2. host your domain with a) a website-hosting company, b) your internet service provider (ISP) or c) your own computer
3. intall the CMS (eg. wordpress, drupal, joomla) into the server
4. start blogging.

Unlike.. 'instant-noodle-like' ones we talked about for the earlier post, 'semi-instant-noodle-like' CMSes have more flexibilty, allowing search engine optimization (SEO) to be carried out more easily. However, unlike 'instant-noodle-like' ones, this one requires a few steps to setup and cost much more money too. The price of hosting your domain with one website-hosting company can start from $3/month, and can cost up to $20/month for others. Of course depending on the price, different companies provides different services to clients, so choose wisely.

While your ISP can provide you with crappy hosting, there is also another alternative to host your website, and that is to host it in your own home. To do that, you have to leave you computer switched on 24 hours a day 7 days a week so to ensure that your website will not be offline at anytime of the day. That computer should have the latest computer drivers including the motherboard drivers, the ethernet drivers and modem drivers to provide consistant connection to the internet so to make sure the website will not be 'down' at any point of time. While this sounds cheap, there also other problems that you must anticipate, and I will post about this tomorrow.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's posts. because it will be able the pros and cons between hosting your website with a company and hosting your website at home. Thank you, c u

Other than Blogger, there are also other blogging platform (CMS) alternatives that you can also earn money from. This includes 'instant-noodle-like' ones such as Wordpress, Tumblr and Lifejournal, and 'semi-instant-noodle-like' ones such as Wordpress (again) and Drupal. Today I will be focusing on the 'instant-noodle-like' ones, and the 'semi-instant-noodle-like' ones for tomorrow.

About the 'instant-noodle-like' ones, you may be wondering why I describe it as such? Well, since you can just blog right after you register to their blogging company that's why I call it 'instant-noodle-like': minimal setup required. I will be reviewing some of the popular ones so that you readers will have a more informed choice:

Wordpress
-free
-This is the next biggest online blogging platform other than Blogger
-Have many useful widgets us bloggers can use to promote our website
-User-friendly control panel, equiped with visitor stats and everything
-With $15 you can have your own www.yourwebsite.com name
-Downside is: you will also have to pay $10 more to be able to customize blog theme

Tumblr
-free
-Control panel is kind of confusing
-Can edit blog theme HTML
-Downside is: registering your own www.yourwebsite.com name is more complicated than the others

Typepad
-Downside is: you have to pay them to use their services

Lifejournal
-free
-They have this special friend network thing
-They also have the friend lock thing which I find really annoying
-Downside is: there are advertisement from Lifejournal that you can't remove
-Downside is: Other than the background, you can't change its layout that much

Overall, I think if you don't want to stick with Blogger, you can try Tumblr because you can edit HTML just like blogger and it has some features similar to Wordpress. Wordpress doesn't allow you to really customize the looks of your blog, not without paying a fee, and Lifejournal is just dumb. Typepad is not free so I don't think you readers are interested in that. Wordpress also does not allow you to post any sponsered content too, so that's bad.

Thats all for today, I will be talking about 'semi-instant-noodle-like' ones tomorrow so stay tuned. c u

Went to the optometrist this afternoon to do some eye check, and guess what, despite my eye condition I am able to wear contact lens! I thought I won't be able to wear one because I was told earlier by the optometrist in Thailand that I have lazy eye and its impossible to wear one. However, the Thai optometrists are partially true: the contact lens that I will be wearing will not fully correct my eyesight, so I will be able to see many stuff, but not small stuff like texts.

You may wonder 'Poom, then why the hell are you wearing contact lens if it won't full correct your eyesight? That's just dumb!' Well, if you are a person who wears glasses like me, you will understand that it is really uncomfortable to play any kind of sport if you have one on. It's like theres always this chance that the whatever sport equipment you are using may hit your face, and then ultimately spoil your glasses. Basketballs and floorballs hit my glasses before, and I tell you its not a pleasant experience.

It's feels good to be able to take your glasses off, because you will be able to do actions that you find difficult to do before, for example you will be able to:

1. See while swimming
2. See while playing attractions in theme parks
3. See while being the goal-keeper for floorball
4. Feel safe when you play sports because your glasses won't break

Cost for check-up = AU$56, cost for future consultation = $138.30, all of which are fully covered by the OHSC Worldcare in Australia. For your info, Australia provides free healthcare to its citizens, but with a yearly payment of AU$1000+ overseas students will also be entitled to this cover, just that there are so many terms and conditions until it's useless. That's all for today's post, thank you, c u

Today was a close call. While walking to another building in my university (UNSW by the way), a bird nearly shitted on me!

The incident took place along the UNSW main path (picture above). It was like I was walking, and then phlat! The bird shitted! It landed right infront of me! The bird was in the trees! Luckily it missed me by about 30 centimetres, or else I will be one very unlucky bastard!

I am going to make my own contact lens soon! You have started blogging for 2 months already and you have a few hundred posts in your achives. You are participating in online communities regularly and have commented on countless number of blogs in your niche. You are using social networking websites to help promote your web domain and social bookmarking ones too. At the end of the day do you expect a hell lot of visitors to come to your website after using all the SEO tips and tricks? Yes. However, in reality, in addition with your inexperience in the SEO world, the answer is most probably:

No, you don't have many visitors to your site.

Those who do online marketing and SEO aggressively should be successful in no time, but for those of us who thinks that 'I am too busy for this', 'I can do it tomorrow', 'I still have homework to do', procrastinators in general, it can take months or even 1 year or 2 for your web domain to get substantial traffic, even if you have submitted your web domain URL to uncountable number of directories.

So my advice to you is, do not stop when you feel down, do not stop when you have only 50 people visiting your site everyday, do not stop when your web domain is really quiet, keep going. It takes time for people and search engines to get to know your website, don't waste your efforts, keeping SEOing and know more SEO tips. That's all, c u

Hello, today we will be talking about why you should customize your meta tags, some explanations and how you can do it.

Why?

1 of the few important SEO tips is that you should customize your web domain's meta tags. Meta tags are information that you want search engine robots to know, like 'What is your web domain all about?', 'What language is it?' and such. Unless you don't want search engine robots to really get to know your web domain, you can stop reading this post right now, but if you really want to succeed here, continue reading. Let me show you what kinds of meta tags PoomDomain is using right now:

From Poom Domain Australia

Point 1 - 8 is basically something that I just copied from other websites because they are the standard meta tags that everyone should have, but today I am going to tell you why points 9 - 11 is some somewhat more important than the others in the SEO world:

Explaination

Meta tags in points 9 - 11 are meta author, meta description and meta keywords. Why I said 'somewhat important' earlier is because meta keywords are not really important for SEO anymore, but still, it is better if we have it clearly stated rather than not. You can just put your name in the meta author, but for meta description and meta keyword we will go into greater detail.

The words in your web domain's meta description are the words that will appear as your website's description in Google's or Yahoo's search result. Like for example, try typing the word 'Yahoo' in Google search right now, see the result for Yahoo: 'Welcome to Yahoo!, the world's most visited home page. Quickly find what you're searching for, get in touch with friends and stay in-the-know with the ...' is its meta description. So what do you want your visitors to know about your website? Just type in the meta description accordingly.

Meta keywords tells search engine robots under what category your web domain is in. If you put 'Dogs' as your meta keyword, then that means you are trying to tell search engines that your web domain is about 'Dogs'. So use meta keywords properly and you will rank higher with those keywords.

How?

I'm not entirely sure for self-hosted blogs or websites, but for Blogger users you can just copy my meta tags and place it right after your web domain's 'head' tag. So sorry, but you have to manually type out the words in the picture, remember to customize your meta tags after you do that too.

Altogether, if you have meta tags inserted you will allow search engine robots as well as visitors to know more about your web domain. That's all for today's post, c u

There are great many SEO tips to get traffic to your domain, and one of the popular ones is to 'buy targeted traffic'. Well, today I want to tell you that:

Don't buy targeted traffic!

There are quite a number of reasons, being:

1. Targeted traffic are expensive at times
2. Targeted traffic are often scams and is not worth your money, but if it isn't,
3. Traffic bought only comes to your site a few times, and never again
4. Traffic bought will not earn you money as there is no intention for them to buy anything from you

The 'buy targeted traffic' scam is often targeted on newbies who are new to the SEO world. These newbies often turn to this easy way when their web domain is receiving little to no traffic at all, not knowing that this will not do them any good. There are several ways to get real traffic from the web, and here are some of them:

1. Writing free articles
To get traffic to your domain, it is essential that you leave your links around the web so that people can find you. One of the methods is writing free articles. You can leave a link to your domain on all the articles you post on article websites, and anyone who wish to reproduce these articles will need to put this link on their domain. Some of the article websites are ezinearticles.com, goariticles.com, blogcarnival.com and articlealley.com.

2. Submit you domain URL to social bookmarking websites
Another great way to leave your link all over the web. Submit your domain URL to major social bookmarking websites like digg, de.li.cious or stumbleupon and hope for some traffic to come. You can also submit your URL every time to update your content but this can be difficult to do since there are so many social bookmarking websites out there. What you can do is to install this great onlywire button. Follow instruction and bookmark to your success.

3. Participate in online communities
Spend some time to visit forum and blogs related to your niche. For forums, leave your domain URL in your signature box and for blogs, just leave your URL every time you write a comment.

Further reading on why you should not buy targeted traffic can be read here, here and here. If not, then that's all for today, thank you, c u

Regrets....

" What have I done? " I asked myself this question repeatedly.

It was too late to go back now.

This is what I deserved from taking the wrong path.

Tears flow down my eyes as I sat in a dark cold corner of a dark cold room which was cold.............. It was cold

For a moment, I tried to recall what had happened to me which made me ended up in such a situation.

Nothing of such would have happened if not because of "it".

I could remember it so very clearly as if it just happened recently.

Few days ago, I came upon the "it". I found "it" very pleasurable and decided to took "it" again. And thats when it all happened.......

To be continued.....

Right away....

I was addicted to "it". It was too late now, nothing can be done to save me. My study deproved and I spent hours after hour a day with "it".

It is.....Facebook.

From Poom Domain

So yeah, I have been playing Facebook for quite sometime and I find it quite addictive.

The games I play on the Facebook are Restaurant City, Farm Ville, Friends For Sale, Mafia Wars and Rock Band.

My favourite game is no other than Restaurant city.

This is my restaurant lay-out, very effective for handling customers.

Hi guys, today I will be talking about an online marketing method called 'email marketing'. In the online SEO community, people consider email marketing to be the last resort for most, since email marketing is considered a spam. However, everything has its pros and cons, and one of its pros is: information can be deliverd to the masses quickly and effectively.

To start an email marketing campaign, you will need a list emails of customers to start with. How you get them is totally up to your choice. From there, you can either manually send emails to all of your customers which will take you quite some time, use programs to automate this task, or use online services to help you finish the job. Let me weigh the pros and cons and give you suggestions for all three methods:

Manual email marketing:
Pros:
No money needed
Cons:
Waste a lot of time

Manual email marketing do not cost you a dime, but if you believe in the phrase 'time is money', then a lot of 'money' will be wasted during this process.

Email marketing using programs:
Pros:
Only 1 time purchase needed
Send email to masses with one click of a button
Can do other stuff other than email marketing
Cons:
Sometimes the program is hard to operate

IBusinessPromoter (IBP) is the only program I use, and so far I am very satisfied with it. Other than automatic email marketing, IBP can also analyse your website and you can do the appropriate tweaks easily. IBP can give you a comprehensive list of actions you can do to optimise your domain. With IBP, analyzing the top ranked web pages is as easy as 1-2-3. IBP analyzes the web pages that currently have a top 10 ranking in the search engine of your choice and compares them with your page.

Email marketing using online service
Pros:
There are admins to help you email market
Wide range of services associated with email marketing available
Easy to use interface
Cons:
Have to pay a monthly subscription fee to use their services

While there are only a few free online email marketing services, paid ones are considered to be more trustworthy and of better quality, one is iContact.com. iContact is an easy to use email marketing, surveying, autoresponder, and blogging tool. Price starts at $9.95/month for small businesses, $600/month for large companies and scales upward based on list size. It also has an easy to use interface and over 300 professionally-designed email templates. The application allows you to track the opens and clickthroughs on your emails, add a sign-up form to your web site, segment your list, and manage your subscribers. There is of course a free trial version.

People certainly like to do things easily, but to do that a lot of money is needed. I for one have already started email marketing but is still using the free trial version. So make a choice today and work towards a better website, thank you, c u

For us bloggers, Google adsense is one of the easiest ways to earn money: just paste their ads on your website and when anyone click on it, you earn money. However, what if you are banned from the program because you clicked your own ads or whatever? Well, there are other alternatives such as affiliate programs, pay per blog post programs and others listed here:

Pay per blog post method:

1. blogsvertise.com
Sign up, wait for site to be approved (really easy), and wait for advertisers to come knocking on your door. I have earn quite a some of money from this program, so its good. They pay you when you have posted an entry related to their website, including their links. Price ranges from $7 and above.

2. payperpost.com
This one is like blogsvertise, but harder for your site to be approved. They pay you when you have posted an entry related to their website, including their links. Price ranges from $7 and above. Payperpost just launched their version 4alpha.

3. Blogitive.com
Until this very day I still did not get their verification email, so Im not sure whether if its a good way to earn

Pay for putting banners/text links method:

1. Money4blog.com
Put a text link ad on your website to earn and your blog has got to be more than 3 months old to participate. I got to tell you, my first offer was $30 and I earned some pocket money from this website. It was worth it.

2. Money4banner.com
Same as money4blog, but this time you put banners on your blog.

Pay per click advertising method (just like adsense):

1. adbrite.com
I'm using adbrite right now but I haven't been earning a lot from it, probably because my blog is still quite new. Wait till traffic grows, and this program will surely help you earn

2. Chitika.com
This ad program is targeted to USA and Canadian internet surfers only. Ads will only show when someone reach your stie from a search engine from USA or Canada. My main source of traffic do not come from both countries so I have not earn from this program yet.

Affiliate method:

1. CJ.com
Even though people say its good, I find that the banner links provided by this website do not work on my blog.

2. E-junkie.com
Affiliate methods have not earn me any money yet since the traffic is still very low.

3. linkworth.com
Wait for advertisers to come knock on your door, and when you sell their products you will earn some money

For me, affiliate programs have not earn me a lot of mone yet due to the low traffic my blog recieves everyday. The pay per blog post method is earning me a lot of money already so try them out. Pay per click methods require traffic too so it takes time to earn from there. The pay for putting banner/text links on your blog method can earn you quick cash, but not for long. Read more on other alternatives here, thats all for today's post, c u

This is the first post with the new timing, a little off topic for today, but instead of SEO optimization I will be talking about one of the computers in my house.

Since we are frequent flyers, buying a computer for each of us is just dumb, so my brother and I have 1 laptop each. Mine is the Hp Pavillion dv6000 which was bought 2.5 years ago while my brother has the Acer Aspire 6935 bought 4 months before this date. Pictures accompanying this post is below:

Acer Aspire 6935 (picture from http://www.notebook.com.uy)

Hp Pavillion dv6000 (picture from http://images.quebarato.com.br)

From the looks of it, I am sure you readers can tell that the Acer Aspire 6935 is the newer model. With better performance and much more efficient computer drivers, my brother put the laptop in good use by using it to burn a lot of CDs for his classmates. He use the laptop to play some classical music too while we are studying in the living room, often blasting it. He also switch on for the whole day, so it was a matter of time when his laptop break down...and so it did.

His CD driver broke a week ago, rendering it useless in writing or reading CDs or DVDs, and a few days later his sound driver also broke. There was no other way to fix the CD driver so he bought an external one from Ebay, and for the sound he fixed it himself by reinstalling the drivers software. The whole process cost him 100 bucks, but all is good now.

His computer is just 4 months old and is already falling apart, my 2.5 years old laptop is still doing fine. Even though I can't write CDs with the driver anymore, I am still satisfied that my laptop can support microsoft office and I can still do my homework with it. That's it for today, c u

Hi readers, its Poom, one of the authors on PoomDomain, and we will be changing our posting times in 24 hours from now. After a few research I have made with Google spidering rate from SEOmos.com and ThaiSEOboard.com, I have discovered that the more you post on your blog, the more frequent the spidering of your site. So in 24 hours time, we will post at a maximum of 3 posts a day instead of the usual 1 post that have been doing for the past 2 months.

Before:
1 post a day,
Poom Phee and Loo taking turns to post at around:
23.00 (GMT +10.00 Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra time)
21.00 (GMT +08.00 Kuala Lumpur, Singapore time)
20.00 (GMT +07.00 Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta time)
06.00 (GMT -08.00 Pacific (US and Canada) time)

After (in 24 hours):

Maximum 3 posts a day:
Poom post at around:
02.00 (GMT +10.00 Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra time)
00.00 (GMT +08.00 Kuala Lumpur, Singapore time)
23.00 (GMT +07.00 Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta time)
09.00 (GMT -08.00 Pacific (US and Canada) time)
Phee and Loo post 1 post each at around:
23.00 (GMT +10.00 Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra time)
21.00 (GMT +08.00 Kuala Lumpur, Singapore time)
20.00 (GMT +07.00 Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta time)
06.00 (GMT -08.00 Pacific (US and Canada) time)

I have read that people go to great lengths on their frequency of posting per day, posting 2 entries each hour. Obviously we 3 authors cannot do that because we don't have all day to post, but we are trying our best right now. That's it for this post, just to let you guys know, c u

Frequent readers may have noticed it already, but for some of you new readers who do not, PoomDomain is slowly improving its looks. PoomDomain has:

1. duplicated its search box and placed it at the navigation bar above like the other websites
2. relocated the 'subscribe feeds' button to the sidebar like the other websites
3. added the 'follow me on twitter' button to the sidebar like the other websites.
4. changed its background colour to white

Why did PoomDomain do that? So to increase loyal visitors and have more of the 'Web 2.0' feel

Today I will be talking about how to increase blog traffic through beauty and alikeness. Lets start with the first point first, and that is Beauty:

Beauty:
The majority of the people on Earth, I would say, like pretty things. Beautiful jewels and gold are used as decoration since ancient times until today, teenagers follow fashion and gloom themselves so that they look good; this clearly shows that humans like pretty things. So why don't we do the same for our webpage? Unorganised webpage layouts often turn away potential loyal visitors, lets that this unorganised site as an example, compared to one with a beautiful layout. So increase the number of your loyal visitors today by attracting them to your beautiful, neat and tidy domain.

Alikeness:
Due to a rise in the number of domains with the same layout as problogger or lifehacker, it is better if we just follow the trend and tweak our domain's layout to look similar to theirs. This way, visitors who may have visited other websites with similar layout will be familiar with our own, increasing accessibility and usabilty of our domain.

Hope this post is helpful to you guys. Thank you, c u

Hihi

We had a National day celebration today. All the NCC cadets ( including me T.T ) are required to wear number 4 uniform and must report to school by 6.45 a.m.

Louis and I decided to meet at a basketball court near his house. We went to school together and realised that we were late. We quickly went to fall in and started doing drills. As they were other uniform groups doing drills, we had some sort of a silence competition to see which uniform was the best at doing drills xD but it seems that NCC was the worst T.T. After almost an hour or so, the school assembled in the parade ground and we were to be stationed at the front of the students.

After the flag raising ceremony had ended, there was a long speech given by teachers. As I was wearing NCC uniform, I perspired profusely. The teacher was worried that I would faint and requested the NCC commander to let me fall out from the platoon but I refused to. Instead, Desmond from 1 D ( if I am not wrong ) who is from scout collapsed and landed his chin on the ground! I could hear the crack sound so very clearly. It happened too fast I did not manage to react in time. Few teachers came to assist him immediately, the cut on his chin was deep and blood oozed out from his chin. He was brought to hospital.

After the incident that took place, the teacher told everyone to report sick if they were feeling unwell. There were lots of people who reported sick. I guess they were traumatised.....

After the celebration, we went back to class. Louis and I decided to change first as it was very hot in Number 4 uniform. We got back to class and Mr Lew showed us the video on National day. Today the school was kind enough to provide us with curry puffs and bottles of water for refreshments.

This will be our first official combine post which will be written by both Louis and I. The first section of this post is mine and the later section is his. So I shall start now......

Yesterday after school, Louis, Austine and I went to the library to do some D & T stuffs. Since we do not have any A4 size paper, we accomplished the unthinkable....... Dunman secondary school's library allows students to print their work in the library. And what we actually did was we printed out blank paper so we can use them xD Fortunately, the librarian was busy reading a blog and failed to notice the papers which was printed out.

And here comes yesterday's nicest event " The birth of Kong Fu Master ":

From Poom Domain

This is no joke and I am not lying. As we were doing D&T, I noticed a guy walking around in the library moving both his arms around. When I looked carefully, I realised he was fighting a guy in his own imagination! How cool is that?

We asked him ( shall not reveal who he is ) to come to us and show us some kung fu moves and he really did O.O We were laughing non-stop as he continued doing all kinds of moves. And as you can see the picture, that is one of his move. It is called the " recharge " move. The way to do is quite easy. All you need to do is punch to the left and punch to the right, bend down 90 degree and end up in the position as shown above. It was pretty cool....

After he had showed us all his moves, he decided to loiter around the library again. This time he acts as an assasin. He was moving stealthily and NO ONE could see his presence. I was embarassed for him....and guess what? He went to backstab a girl, LOL!

We had NCC training again. Just that, this time it is a little different. We had the so called "NCC Napfa test". The standard of this test is of course higher than the standard of the normal Napfa test we always have.

After we had done stretching and everything, we went to take the test. The first test was 800 m run. To get gold you have to complete it within 3 minutes O.o I managed to reach the finishing line in 2 minutes and 40 seconds. Althought I was the first to reach, I was still disappointed......I used to be a lot better than this T.T

As for the next test, we have push-up, inclined pull-up and shuttle run which I got gold for all of them. Louis? Well, for the inclined pull-up part, he only did 5. He asked me to tell the IC he did 30 so he could get gold. Sorry Loo......

After the Napfa test was over, we played basketball. Secondary 1 versus secondary 2. The secondary 2 cadets were full of themselves and thought that they could really win the match. But to their disappointment, they did not. Louis and I were too strong for them. Both us put the secondary 2 cadets to shame. Where is the glory? And yep, we won the match.

That will be all for now, I shall pass the mike to Loo.

Thanks bro, drinks on me tomorrow yo!

Hypothesis:

Today, I just found out that 1D loves me more than my class 1C! I'm so proud of them! 1C just disgraced me, i expected more.. but such disappointment indeed.

Reason:

After school, Leesun came to the class with two pieces of paper, both of them were filled with birthday wishes from her class 1D unexpectedly. Most of the people who wished me were people I knew but there were some whom i did not even know of before.

Now, let's do some mathematics

Let the number of people in 1D who wished me a happy b'day be D and the number of people in 1C who wished me be C.

If 11D = 33 C

What is the ratio of the number of people in 1D who wished me a happy b'day to the number of people in 1C who wished me a happy b'day?

Ans: 33:11

A question like this came out in the maths test today so I'm just hinting to those who haven't done the test yet...

Yeah so, more people in 1D wished me more B'day wishes than my own class interestingly. About 33 wishes from 1D to 11 wishes from 1C.

Looking in percentage, 1D over 1C, 33/11 x 100% = 300%

Bam Wam Slam Dam!

Anyway here are the two masterpieces done by 1D:

Response:
Thank ya Leesun, Phee, 1D for this special thingy thing i think.

Conclusion:

I Felt the love from 1D today,

Reign Of Chaos

by Poom | 21:46 in , | comments (0)

The class has been in a state of chaos for the past few days with people fighting and taunting each other. There is also this new guy who just came to our class after returning to Sg from Denmark. Sadly, he got into a fight with my other classmate on the first day of school. :(

So the question is...

Where is the love?

People fighting, people crying. Classmates hurting u hear them crying. :'(

Now, there are even some people who defies the teacher, real sad for the teacher and he might even wanna quit teaching the class. Real crazy man, haven't seen anything like this in my primary school.

Father father father help them, send some guidance from above, cause people got me got me questioning where is the love? where is the love? where is the love? the love the love.

Moving on, our class had a class photo shoot today. When the it was time to take the photo, a lot of people started flooding towards the toilet wanting to style their hair. And there's this guy called Ben who loves his hair very much. He looks like some kind of rocker until monday when i saw him, his hair style changed to a rooster. And he regretted cutting his hair during the weekends as he wanted to look good during the shoot. On normal days, the gel he uses on his hair is real thick, today it was extremely thick. And on normal days, messing his hair would result in him punching us. But today was extremely worth it because it was photo taking day, we din mind getting a few punches just to mess his hair during the shoot.

Lastly, this is the present i got from Leesun, a motivation for me to save my money:

Leesun got me a bear bank because Phee told her that money was my favourite thing, so she got me this. Actually, i prefer spending money to having money so this bank can actually help me save instead of spending. Ty to leesun.

Ok, I end here, cya.

Today I will be talking about the achievements of PoomDomain. I will be talking about PoomDomain's usage of keywords, its traffic and its popularity in the blogosphere in general. How PoomDomain ended up in such a state is because of the SEO tips it has provided in here.

Keywords used by PoomDomain:
Changes to the keywords used by PoomDomain happened from time to time, but some of its effective ones which can be found on the first page of google search. Try typing the list of keywords in the google search below:

Keywords using right now
---SEO tips for beginners (7th in 38 million searches)
---poom (10th in 1.3 million searched)
Keyword didn't intended to be used
---Tsunami tomorrow (1st in 1.6 million searches)
Mispelled keywords
---Yoshonoya (intended to be yoshinoya, 10th in 293 searches)
---channalnewsasia (intended to be channelnewsasia, 5th in 191 searches)
Keyword intended to promote at first
---Domain (failed, because of too much competition)

Traffic to PoomDomain:
Despite PoomDomain being created for about 2 months already, the amount of traffic coming to it is still small and has not increased dramatically over this amount of time. Some of the possible causes are:
1. Authors did not participate in the online community regularly
2. Ineffective methods used to promote the domain
3. It takes time for PoomDomain to be noticed
It might take PoomDomain another half-a-year to get quality traffic coming from everywhere, but for now, its authors will do their best to bring in traffic wherever possible

PoomDomain's popularity in the blogosphere:
Since there was not so much traffic coming to PoomDomain, their authors concluded that PoomDomain is not that popular yet

Overall, in Poom's opinion, PoomDomain is doing rather well considering the fact that their authors are new to the Web 2.0 social networking community. Only 10 dollars was spent on PoomDomain, but with the newly acquired 166 dollars, improvements will come in the near future. With the tips provided in here, readers can achieve similar results if they follow the steps. Thats it for today's post, c u

Its been 3 months since my arrival in Sydney and its 3 more months to go till I finish my pre-university course. Things that happened here aren't as memorable as in Singapore, but anyway, today I will be talking about why I started blogging.

Mid-autumn 2 months ago. things were pretty boring for me. Other than my regular classes from 9am to 4pm, I had nothing else to do but to come home and sit infront of the computer and surf the net. After receiving the months water and electrical bills, I was shocked how much resources 4 guys in an apartment can waste. Research on how to save electricity in the house began, and I came up with a list:

1. Do not enjoy showers, so that we won't waste water
2. Do not switch on the computer for the whole day
3. Do not use the heater, and wear jackets instead
4. Get a job, either offline or online

From than on, I decided to blog using Blogger. My initial homepage URL was www.stormrage371.blogspot.com, but after I was convinced that I should get my own '.com' page with no 'blogspot' infront, I changed the domain URL to www.poomdomain.com.

How about you guys reading this post? If you have your own website, why did you started it at the first place? thank you, c u
